Problems by anonymI cannot get it to connect to my Samsung galaxy note 3. Getting mad now. Now it won't connect to anything. If this don't get fixed then it was a waste of money 1/5
Clever concept, not great in practice. by anonymGood idea to use a tablet or smartphone, but some refinement is needed. Nag screen annoys just as I plug in to go fly! Bad timing! Menu buttons too small - hard to select video on/off, etc. especially in bright sunlight. Some in-flight settings such as Calibrate are too deep in the menu system to select quickly while in the air. Default settings are too coarse for new users. 3/5
Director mode "coming soon" for over a year by anonymApp is fine but all of the cool capabilities are in Director Mode only in Apple app. Such "Director Mode" has been coming soon for over a year now. This speaks volumes to their inability to complete their own goals. I also keep getting a message that since I purchased Director Mode, I can get it now by clicking the 'Transfer' button. Great!! All we need now is an actual 'Transfer' button... useless. 1/5
What gps support by anonymGps not working on samsung s3 no maps. Also someparts of the app dont work on Android. Now changed to S5 gps and the other parts of the app now work however I'm having trouble getting piloting to work after connecting, possibly a setting on my phone. Maybe an update is required. 4/5
Are we not as good as iPhone users? by anonymIPhone has director mode, a mode I NEED to do the work I want to do.... sorry i m not an. IPhone user. I'll be returning your product in the morning! 1/5
Ok but controls don't scale on tablet by anonymIt mostly works but on my tablet the "change camera" button is missing (works on a phone) and on my tablet some of the preferences run off the screen (like gps on off). Also both on my android phone and tablet it occasionally sticks on loading and i have to force kill the app from settings them reopen it. once open it does seem to work okay. 3/5
Don't Get This App by anonymI have a galaxy s3 and all the app does is when u hit pilot it just says loading for five minutes. Don't waste your time and 300 dollars don't get this app or the drone. 3/5
Won't connect using Galaxy S4 Active/KitKat by anonymthe app just hangs on "loading" and never will allow pilot mode. Pretty shocked considering how popular the Galaxy phones are. Luckily I have an iPad mini that seems to work fine. Please fix this app and give us an update! 1/5
Pita rating nag screen by anonymI'm not rating the app at all but I'm giving 1 star because I finally gave in to the nag screen asking me to rate. 'Cancel' and 'Remind me later' need to be joined by 'No Thanks' for people like myself who generally do not rate apps. I hope that this review stops the nag screen. 1/5
Need a more intuitive interface. by anonymSome of the problems I have are the puzzling nested menus and that some settings have to be made while the drone is in flight but the control requires you to dig into the menu and relinquish control of the drone. Also having problem with Nexus 7 DHCP not connecting to ARDrone 2 Wi-Fi. 3/5
AR Freeflight - simple, powerful, intuitive by anonymWorks seamlessly on my iPad & Android phone. Would someday like to see the flight data that displays on the live feed be able to be captured/annotated on the recorded video. That said, only great things to say about this app. 5/5
Samsung Galaxy s2 by anonymSo far so good! Have only had my drone for a few days and I love it very easy to control. my girlfriend doesn't approve of me doing flips with it indoors. I can't wait to get it outside I have had zero problems with the Android app I don't use apple anything so I'm pleased. 4/5
Finally updated review by anonymSo sick of this dumb lazy French company. FU Parrot. Your community is better than you at developing the AR Drone and Apps for it too (on android and PC) 1/5
by anonymI haven't had a chance to use theapp yet but it prompts me to rate it.you get a 3 star. 3/5
Not compatible with ar.drone 2.0 by anonymParrot's own app cannot pilot the drone 2.0, requires ar.Pro to pilot 1/5
by anonymHappy with the app everything works fine except director mode please fix the problem I would like to be able to use all my drones features 4/5
Drone app is awesome by anonymControls off my galaxy 4 perfect, instant response at 70 ft in slightly windy day 5-10 at alt. ground 3-5 can't wait for director's part. 5/5
Where's Director Mode!? by anonymI've had the parrot drone 2.0 for a year now, & I've been waiting for Director Mode the entire time. It's available for iOS, but not for Android. C'mon people! I can tell you that Director Mode has been "COMING SOON" for at least a year. Remedy this issue, and I'll change my vote to 5 stars. 4/5
Works well. But needs alot of improvement by anonymThe app works well. Would be nice if you could switch power off to the cameras to save on battery power. Also no director mode still? SHOCKING. Can the developer please keep supporting this app as it seems the developer has forgotten about it. 3/5
Be Careful by anonymI have had nothing but good experiences .... until it froze. Imaging your drone flying along when the app freezes ... that's right, it's not going to end well. In my case I landed 50 feet up a tree. I've read other reviews that didn't end half that well. At least mine was a semi-soft landing. The drone still flies, but I'm hesitant to take it anywhere near buildings, trees, water, people, etc. 2/5
This company does not care about Android users by anonymIt's a apple app only, they only will focus on upgrading apple I tunes app and not the Android. Don't believe me? Try to use the director mode in the app... 3/5
Rate this app command has to go! by anonymI rated this app with the same complaint last year and it still insists that I give it a rating every time I open it up. Well here is my rating. The app itself works well once it is synced with the drone. If there is a way to maximize the wifi signal I would like to know because the range between the android and the drone is just OK and sometimes spotty depending on the surroundings. 1/5
Director mode 'coming soon' WTF! I was going to buy the drone for cinematic shots! Well at least I looked at the app before I bought it... Also add support for immersive mode (hides away home button, etc) this would make it safer. Great idea but FIX IT. by anonymSee above (text box fail) 1/5
Meh.. by anonymParrot, where is that release you promised for SEPTEMBER 2013 with the Director Mode? It's May 2015 and nothing happened. Coming soon. Is the development team making a mess out of things, or do you just not care about Android users? 1/5
Freeflight by anonymWell, without the ability to use a remote (other than a handheld mobile device) and the fact that there is a bug which makes my controls reverse, I would say the app is pretty good. It's too bad that the wifi signal range is so limited. Otherwise good app. 3/5
ARDrone 2.0 by anonymWorks pretty good with galaxy's s3 and Note2. Notice didn't work right with cracked screen on note2 .after I fixed the screen? Very smooth flight. :) 5/5
Solid software even for older phones by anonymI've had no problem with the app itself. It crashed once, probably due to my old phone, but the drone just stayed in the air. I like it but I'd like to know more about controller for my android phone so I don't have to use the screen. 4/5
Utter rubbish by anonymHow is it posible to have an app on Android is dangerous to use but on iOS is ok? This app clearly shows that this is possible! The reason is the Android button bar, which you could have hidden away and make a fullscreen application. Did you test your app at all? I had to make an emergency landing because I hit by mistake the home softbutton... THIS IS DANGEROUS! You have a certain maturity online, this has never arrisen before? 1/5
Great app for great drone by anonymWell had to reset drone first to get everything working. Bit after that i am having a ball. A bit more practice and we up and running for some new things in vaalharts 4/5
by anonymHad my Droid for two days and one motor quit. The software is clumsy. I am waiting until my replacement drone come in. Then I might give more than two stars. Update: The new drone is great and should be 5 stares, but the software is prone to lock-up while flying!!! and should only be one star. 2/5
Motorola by anonymJust starting to use this app, all seems to be working as stated, will give it a 5, once I use it more if all keeps going well. 4/5
GPS Maps don't work by anonymWith the gps module, the map shows as blank, and trying to preload the maps with the map storing function (while connected to home WiFi) also shows a blank screen. What's the point of buying the gps module if the waypoint programming doesn't work? 1/5
Application failure by anonymApp force closes every time I try to upload my videos. Freezes during flight witch drops my 299$ to the ground. To dangerous to fly with an unstable application. I love my drone but app needs more work before I can trust flying again. (Updated still doing same thing.) 2/5
Connectivity issues by anonymGreat drone but the connection is rough. Great bang for the buck as I'm sure the issues will get back to IT so they can fix it. 3/5
Tragic by anonymSo I grab th drone from hobbytown on my way to work 299+tax ok.... I decide to play with it and its awesome I mean just really cool well the wind grabbed hold of it pulled it out of a doorway in the warehouse I was flying in and then way way way way out into the river now a megaship and two tugs are cruising right through that spot. But so cool I'm getting another one tomorrow 5/5
Works great on VZW S3/Note2 by anonymMake sure to start by selecting "airplane mode", this turns off all radios. Then, manually turn on your Wi-Fi, and forget any networks your connected to by long holding on them and selecting forget. Next, power on your Drone and watch it connect in the phones Wi-Fi menu. Open your flight software and go to settings and be sure to calibrate your balance, then back out to your flight panel and fly. This will prevent any calls/text/notifications that could potentially cause a disconnect and a fly-away. 4/5
Solid effort overall. by anonymI don't like how you keep busting my balls for a rating each time I want to fly my drone. I shouldn't be constantly bothered to rate your app if I don't want to. Also till to fly doesn't feel right .. using a PS3 controller is the only way. Lastly please have android application development keep pace with iOS 4/5
Drone strikes by anonymUnbelievable the done can pair up with you're cell phone and cameras are adapted to the cell phone and you can see everything in a birds eye view, technology is getting advance! 5/5
Director mode "coming soon" by anonymNo director mode, cant shoot goot videos with the drone. Force close sometimes causing drone to plunge 50metres to the reservoir..the goes my hard earned money... 1/5
Almost there... by anonymIf you could remove the, "Rate this App.", Pop-up, and possibly program in an option to remove notifications of calls and text messages, maybe even an option to automate a text response: "Give me 10 Minutes, I'm flying a drone.". Instead of having to put the whole phone in flight mode... You'd surely get 5 Stars! 4/5
