Very useful but... by anonym Many LTE customers have capped data plans. The faster your connection, the more data the speed test uses. I did one test on Telus LTE and used 100 MB. Would be nice if I could set a cap on the amount of data used per speed test. 4/5
Great Baseline by anonym Speedtest is my goto app for a baseline of throughput when I want to see if my network connection is wonky. 5/5
THE app to test internet speed by anonym What else is there to say? Glad that they finally updated the interface after changing the iOS version first 5/5
Can you add some functions? by anonym Can you add a flush data, or a cancel button for those long slow (not going to work) tests? There are times when I make a speed test only to see that there's an outage in the area and the test is dead slow, even quiting the app won't stop it 'til I force close it myself. Other than that, GREAT APP! 5/5
Network Communication Issues by anonym I keep getting it, and I don't know if its due to my internet or due to the app. Uninstalled, installed back, still keep getting same issue. 3/5
Inaccuracy by anonym Massivly inaccurate compared to desktop version. Obviously a problem with the app. Should be reporting 30mb download but says 4mb. Desktop wireless version states correct speed result. Please fix. It's been like it for ages. 2/5
Works great every time! by anonym I've used Speedtest for a few years now, and it works great. Both this app version and the website work fine, and I like the log that the app has so I can see previous tests that I've run. There's nothing really that I'd change. Keep up the good work. 5/5
Wrong! by anonym The ookla on my PC is accurate, verified by Verizon tech with an actual meter he connected physically to my DSL . The app for Android is overestimating speeds ( both download and upload) by .6 mbps or more. My DSL is incapable of speeds that fast. (Nexus 6, 5.1 lollipop) 1/5
Must have by anonym Helps me every time to make sure that my network is operating properly, along with checking the wireless throughput 5/5
Not bad.. but by anonym You need the app that can display speeds over 100mbs. Comcast and fios have their own sites that can show speeds over 250mbps. 4/5
Does What it says by anonym Generically good in every way. You still need to add the option if naming results. So you can add the where and when. Eg. Office desk/town centre ect. 5/5
Pretty accurate. by anonym The results are accurate and precise. The interface is great and smooth. Good optimisation. 5/5
Why does it need to download so much data for a test? by anonym Was testing my 4g lte speed and it drained almost 60mb of data connection in less than 60 secs 1/5
Easy and Informative by anonym Best app for quick accurate assessment of your ISPs performance! Also saves history to make it great for comparing speeds at multiple locations around your house (on personal wifi) or when out and about (guest wifi, or a cellular/wimax service). 5/5
Great app by anonym Does what it says. It's free. Don't like ads? Pay the developer. Complaining that it uses your mobile data? How the f$@# do you think this tool works? It sends and receives data over a specified time period and calculates how much has been TXed/RXed during that time to give you an average speed. You think it just asked the Internet gods how fast it's running today? Tricked by ads into thinking you have a virus on your phone? Your stupidity is not the developers fault. Rate the app, not your intelligence. 5/5
Results suggestion.... by anonym Can we get the option to name a test in the results tab? So we can more easily identify where/when/what/why we ran a particular test? 4/5
Could be optimised better by anonym Nice interface, nice animation & no sign up. Although this app uses 23Mb to determine speeds, it's pretty quick and accurate. This app is 14Mb, which I found an overkill so eventually uninstalled for a better, smaller one of the same function. 3/5
Great by anonym My only suggestion at this point would be to offer a "short" test, ergo I don't want to burn 30+ MB of bandwidth to test my 4G connection. Also, a QoS test would be a great addition. 5/5
Seems reliable & accurate by anonym The results were quite reliable for me, but it seems to me that speedtesting on PC is more accurate than on mobile devices, probably due to HDD restriction on mobiles. And I do agree with others that the app is using a lot more data when speedtesting on mobile connection speed, which is not so good as mobile ISPs usually have quota caps. Suggest devs to put data usage caps in app. 5/5
Appearance does NOT affect effectiveness by anonym I have no problem with it's prettiness or lack thereof. It does is job. 4/5
Great app for testing my connectivity speed by anonym Useful for those situations where you'd like to determine how fair your carrier's network is, especially for the stupidly outrageous price they charge. 5/5
Ad blocks test results by anonym Can't see results because a giant ad pops up and covers the results before I can see them. Basically, this app is completely useless until they fix this. 1/5
Great! by anonym Works better than anything else. Been using this company to check up on my connection for over a decade now, and has yet to fail me. All the way back from when ADSL just came out ;) 5/5
The advertising is irritating. by anonym If your goal was to get people to opt-out with 99 cents, then it is perfectly effective. The ad partner you have has some of the most annoying motion ads possible. From flashing banners to faking like a notification on a system its not on. That said, this app is very effective in helping diagnose network issues. So if you need to be able to test your wifi connection or even your cell tower, it's effective. Just beware of your range to wireless connection point. The further it is, the worse the results. 3/5
UI choppy, not material design by anonym Service works well but the app badly needs some UI improvements and optimization. The "speedometer" is laggy and shiny design looks like something out of 2006. Ui also does not scale on large displays and looks so ugly with the reflections. Ugly icon. 1/5
Doesn't gives real result. by anonym All the tests that I have done over than 50MB for downloads, and 20MB for uploads, but when I try it for real it can't even play YouTube videos, or open Google web. ((SO HOW YOU CAN EXPLAIN THAT)). 1/5
Perfect 5 stars.... Samsung galaxy s3 by anonym Wow fantastic. The app is brilliant... what more can I say? It works for home broadband and for mobile phone Internet. Some people have been complaining about ad's but I've not noticed any. So if you want to know what speed your Internet is.... use this app! 5/5
Not showing the wifi speed in my mobile by anonym I tried this app in my another mobile of same wifi network but it works showing the speed 3/5
Incomplete results by anonym Does measure speed. But misses an important measure - ping time/lag/latency *during* the transfer. Raw speed doesn't matter as much, It's the latency, stupid! 3/5
Terrifying cat by anonym Don't flick the dial up. He will find you 5/5
Works alright for me. by anonym All you need nifty little tool for testing Internet speeds received on your mobile phone through either Wi-Fi or Mobile Data. (Just be careful as it can eat up to 90 MiB of your data plan in my case...) Good enough to use free, with some senseless adds here and there, but for less than a buck you can get rid of them. 5/5
Great by anonym Ookla should consider an option that allows users to schedule speed tests at different intervals of the day and on multiple days so individuals can show connectivity issues to their carriers and Internet providers. 5/5
Ads on ads on ads. by anonym This ap is great if you want to click around ads and enjoy accidentally hitting the paid version. I do enjoy my occasional visits to the play store. 3/10 would rather struggle using the browser. 1/5
Best app by anonym Best app for testing your internet connection. Really recommend it. If you want to test your Internet connection at home, 3G connection or in work. Use this. When I tested mobile network speed it consumes only about 20 MB. 5/5
Consuming about 25MB on testing speed by anonym I try to check the internet speed of my 3G/4G network and i observed that it cost me about 20-25 MB of data only on testing...and If its costing this much then its useless to check the speed of your internet especially if using pay as you which is higher the the bundle data. 1/5
Ok but... by anonym The app is nice and works well. One majour gripe that it can only handle up to 50mb on the main dial. I receive a lot faster speed than this and cant see how this speeds up or down during the test. 3/5
Not the best by anonym It does what it suppose to do but the ads are annoying especially when they tell you that you have a virus. Some people will believe it. I would have given it 5 stars if the ads were just normal ads and not trying to trick people they have a virus or a slow phone. 3/5
U verse is a disgrace by anonym I'm supposed to get 12mb/s abs I'm clocking 10.4. I'm stuck with at&t and hate it. I love the ookla app though. 5/5
Network communication issues by anonym I regularly get "Network Communication Issues" while running the test, specifically the upload test. While keeping all other conditions the same, I do not receive these errors using other testing apps and websites. note: I see others also on T-Mobile LTE are having the same problem. 4/5
DO NOT PAY FOR THIS APP. IT DOESN'T REMOVE AD BANNER by anonym Paying for this app only removed the ad but the banner is still blocking information. NO RESPONSE FROM DEVELOPER,,paid and still can't see information making this app pretty useless. LG transpyre. I'll be reporting this to play store 1/5
