latest version 1.72 works okay on Lollipop by John G I have a -Redmi Note 2 Prime- cellphone running Lollipop 5. Droid48 1.61 froze almost immediately. The latest version, Droid48 1.72 works okay. If anyone has problems with key responsiveness on Droid48, then click on -Settings- on your phone and find -Accessibility Options-. Turn off -Magnification Gestures-.
Great but.... by anonym No Haptic Feedback on Note 4 4/5
Man I wish I had this in college by anonym Great app, no reduction in functionality from the original hardware. 5/5
Awesome look and feel but still a little too buggy by anonym I have an hp48 and is by far my favorite calculator, so I was excited to see someone made an app for a smartphone. The only issue I have is that it keeps freezing up with just simple calculations. If this gets resolved then I will up my rating to 5 stars. 3/5
works but loses state by anonym I have set the Save On Exit many times, but keeps giving me MEMORY CLEAR. This is very annoying. 2/5
I miss my 48GX by anonym This app is so nice. Thank you. 5/5
Very good Emulator. by anonym Users should also Install Droid48 reader. This allows them to export their work. Everything should backed up to the Android, as the emulator, like the calculator, eventually crashes and wipes out. Save all your libraries and regularly archive the HOME directory to a port. Use Droid 48 Reader to export the HOME directory archive to the android. This makes recovery easy. I have spent a lot of time on this emulator. GX emulation is good. SX Emulation is poor and nothing will import or export. For the SX install droid48sx.Note on Port2: DO NOT SET THE SIZE TO 4 MB. Use on MB or smaller. 5/5
Love my 48 ! by anonym Just works - just like the original from HP 5/5
A good substitute. by anonym I've had no issues with this app. I use it regularly. 4/5
Xperia by anonym It is not working well on xperia z1 compact, it frequently doesn't respond when I am typing, several times I need to push a key twice to input a number, Uninstalling 2/5
Awesome... by anonym ... just like the HP48 (any model) is the most awesome abacus produced by civilization. If you've never used RPN, open your mind, give it a try, and overcome the initial unfamiliarity. I assure you it'll definitely be worth it. 5/5
Freezes repeatedly on my tablet by anonym Doesn't even begin to work on my Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition. Display is black, UI hangs. Prior version would begin working, then crash after just 3 numeric operations. Keeping it installed in hopes that it'll be fixed soon. 1/5
Just like the calculator by anonym Love it. Haven't had any problems. It seems to do everything I did on the calculator perfectly. 5/5
Not working by anonym On my Samsung Note 3 it always freezes up after a few seconds 1/5
The Standard by anonym An HP28s and a 48gx got me through college and I still use the 48 and now a 50g today. This app works just like the real thing and I've always got it with me. 5/5
Best calculator emulator of the best calculator by anonym The HP48 is the best calculator ever made. This is a great app! 5/5
Awesome! by anonym My old engineering school friend, now with me everywhere I go! 5/5
Great calculator by anonym This is an excellent emulation of a classic graphing calculator. It seems to handle anything you can throw at it. Just brush up on your RPN before use. 5/5
Use it almost every day! by anonym I stopped replacing the batteries my old hp48 once I got this app. I love it, use it almost every day. 5/5
I don't need anything else! by anonym I never worry anymore when I'm in a meeting when time to make estimates and budget calculations 5/5
Would be awesome if it didn't crash by anonym The HP 48G, used to be my go-to calculator for nearly everything. Unfortunately this app despite being very promising and working fantastically in the past, has kept freezing for a long time. I will happily change my rating when this issue is resolved, because I used to love it, but for now I cannot really recommend it. 2/5
Best app on my phone by anonym Easily the best app on my phone. I use it very frequently and love having rpn and the stack always at my finger tips. 5/5
Not working properly anymore on newer versions of android. by anonym I loved this app but since some time now it will freeze when you do any serious calculations. Fortunately there is a clone that contains the necessary fixes: droid48sx 1/5
Works great! by anonym It appears that when it gets flushed out of RAM, it loses state. I wish there was an option for it to save state to a file or something so that if it leaves RAM, (reboot, use a RAM heavy app, etc.) It could restart where it left off. 5/5
Replaces my old 48gx by anonym Nothing more to add. Does a good job, runs much faster than oroginal device. And fits inside my pocket. :-) 5/5
Use it all the time by anonym Being a field surveyor, I love this app. Always have a calculator I'm use to using. 5/5
Screen is blank and doesn't appear to respond by anonym Recently it fails to work. Comes up and gives me a dark blank screen. I really liked it when it worked though hopefully they get it fixed. Uninstall / reinstall seems to have reset what was wrong. There should be a easier way to reset it though. 4/5
Owner of the previous generation HP 15C by anonym HP calculators are second to none. I still use my old HP 15C and this emulator has allowed me to discover the wonderful next generation that came in the 90s. RPL is wonderful, same as having the stack in full view on display. I also use an emulator of the 15C but the 48G is so much better that I don't use my good old HP15C anymore. The only drawback is the haptic feedback being too weak, it would be great to be able to adjust haptic duration or strenght. It would also be great an HP 50G emulator!!! 5/5
The best RPN app. by anonym RPN is much more intuitive than algebraic. I have a HP48GX, so this app was easy to use for me. It is amazing how close this app is to the actual calculator. 5/5
Used to be great... by anonym ... Now absolutely useless as input is not working anymore. Please please please fix... :-( 3/5
Freezes constantly on Nexus 5 by anonym I sure wish this app worked because the HP48 is the best engineering calculator around. The app is almost guaranteed to freeze after 10 calculations. It also freezes the same on my old Samsung Epic 4G. 2/5
like it's the real thing.... but better!! by anonym Since the mid nineties, using the HP48Gx - now on the Android, superb... the only thing needed to make this emulator true-to-life is an increase in the size of physical device its installed on - the Samsung Note series is almost there... but think they have to build an 8.3 inch phablet with comperable screen size to do so. just have to wait I suppose. this app is like having the original in-pocket - perfect. no other emulator comes close... 5/5
by anonym Fantastic, is just like my 48, except I can have it with me all the time :o) htc One M8 5/5
Love the app, but is starting to lock up. by anonym Love the app. Locks up on my HTC One M8, though. Fast becoming unusable. I am forced to "Force Stop" it, which forces me to set it up again. But setting it up always seems to LOCK it up, and there I go again. Very frustrating. I even tried uninstalling and re-installing...to no avail. Please fix! 4/5
I never enjoyed HP RPN until this app. by anonym Using this app allows users to experience the benefits of using HP RPN. However, I have some trouble using it on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.5 - occasionally locks up. And developer might consider removing the calculator 'OFF' button as it causes problems and is not needed. 5/5
Simply the best calc app! by anonym Great emulator for one of the best calculators made during my college years ...HP48g. Thank you so much. Im really thrilled to be able to carry this app around in my cell phone. Update: Freezes up constantly on Nexus 5. Hopefully the developer will find a solution for this. At least for replacement there's also the droid48sx app that resembles this app a lot and is very stable on most Android versions. 3/5
RPN on Android by anonym Got hooked using HP calculators in engineering school and have loved having this app after my HP died. Love the which toggle between simple and regular modes. 5/5
HP RPN cals were the best by anonym I still think the RPN system, is the best way to do cals. I had one at uni and used it extensively until it was stolen (if you read this you can still give it back, please). This app is almost like the real thing, the only thing it is missing is the feeling of a real HP keyboard. 5/5
Broken on lollipop by anonym This app used to work very well up to KitKat. On lollipop, the input is completely broken: keypresses give the haptic feedback, but then half the time do not register in the app. Losing every second digit of your numbers makes a calculator kind of useless ... 2/5
Good emulation, needs some debugging by anonym I love my old HP48GX, but I find I use this almost as much because my phone is always with me. Unfortunately, it seems to have regressed a bit lately. It is keeping the phone awake, even after you close it. I have had it drain battery unknowingly due to this until I saw it at the top of the list in wake lock detector. I can work around it, but this is a potential problem. 4/5
RPN user by anonym This is not free inop pos. There are much more honest app providers. I dumped it and rate one to get the message out 1/5
