I use this in the gym to enhance the audio. My Galaxy S used to be too quiet in the gym, and the sound was very flat in general. This app allows the audio to be amplified and enhances the sound quality. I really does make a difference, as my brother also has a Galaxy S but it is still stock, and the sound coming out just isn't as good, even when playing the same audio files. Previously, while running stock Jelly Bean, audio sounded fine with merely a simple EQ. With the urge to try something new, I flashed my Nexus S to a custom ROM (CM10). But as soon as I did, I found out the sound has been degraded. I tried tweaking the same EQ I used during stock and another EQ included with the custom ROM but the sound worsened. So I did research and ran across a Voodoo Sound suggestion. I gave it a shot and got the exact sound I was looking for: crisp and bassy! Better than during stock! 5/5

At first I didn't know if it would work on my phone but it does! Droid charge fully supported with all features. For those with the volume issue, turn off bass boost. It uses part of the Max volume to boost the bass, therefore you can't get as high a volume. Also depends on your kernel and hardware. 5/5

Feed your sound system using an old Android device supporting Voodoo Sound. I took my old Samsung Galaxy Tab 7" (GT-P1000) running CyanogenMod 9.1 (Android 4.04). I plugged the tablet into a sound system with subwoofer. I have a Logitech SqueezeServer (on a PC on my home network). It's serving the music. The Squeezeplayer Android app makes Android devices "look like" a Logitech Squeezebox radio. (That means that the music server can respond to music requests.) Then I feed the output from the tablet's earphone jack via analog headphone cable and into the amp's analog inputs. The signal-to-noise ratio is noticeably better than my previous solution (using a Nexus One). The sound is clean and clear. Great use for old Android devices.And you don't have to buy a Squeezebox radio. 5/5

Your kernel MUST support voodoo sound. Later devices like that Galaxy S3 4 or 5 will not support this. That's why we have viper audio and trickster color control 5/5

It sounds awesome, but if you dont have a compatible kernel it doesn't change anything, you will be fooling yourself if you say that it enhances the sound. I tried this on the stock 2.3.6 official firmware, it works like a charm. But if you cannot load the kernel module, it will sound normally, and you cannot gain any enhancement from it. For exampl i tried this app on cyanogenmod 10.1.3 and it did not do anything, it says no need to load rom, but i know that the sound quality is not like on the one with compatible kernel, so if you cannot find a kernel that works with this its useless. so i restored my i9000 to 2.3.6 with semaphore 2.7.4, because i use it as a music player using FLAC files. 3/5

I installed CynogenMod-10 (Jelly Bean 4.1.1) on my galaxy tab P7000. Awesome ROM (very speedy) but the default headset amplifier volume was WAY too soft. The built-in DSP manager boosts the volume but reverts back to default settings once playback ends:- possibly a bug? Voodoo sound worked! Now I can boost my volume to hardware max if I wish. Bought the plus version just as a sign of gratitude to the dev - thank you! 5/5

At first the app didn't work for me. But then I got a kernel that supports extended audio controls and BAM!!! The apps starts working and it definitely turned up the volume. I happy camper here :-) 5/5

This app greatly enhances the sound when listening to things via headphones. I was looking for an app that would make the volume louder when listening through headphones and came across this app. Sadly it does not work on my Nexus 7 2013 model which I was hoping that it would because the sound on the nexus 7 is too low for my taste. I have this app installed on a Samsung captivate with cyanogen mod installed and the sound coming through my Sony headphones is superior on the almost 3 year old Samsung captivate phone vs my new nexus 7 2013 model. 5/5

It's like I've got a totally new sound system, automagically! thanks. Much better than DSP manager 1.0 in CM10 jellybean. Also runs great with GB Corn Kernel 7. Galaxy S users who complained about it not working need to have a new kernel or else buy plus version 5/5
