by anonymThe app is fun but it is quite buggy. For example, messages and/or pictures that you send won't go through. Another one is when you'll just stop getting notifications from friends. Both of these make the app annoying at times and frequently leave me unable to particular in conversations with my friends 3/5
by anonymThis app always felt somewhat sketchy to me. I've had fake Groupme Support sending me hourly scams for an iPhone 11 and there's seriously NO report function on this app? The mobile version is full of bugs and it's extremely annoying to do anything on this app. Like many others have said, I only got the app out of necessity to join one group. 1/5
by anonymNice closed group share app for school and communication among members. I especially like that is isn't a Facebook offshoot or annoying social medi!a! However... it can be infiltrated and there is no way to delete or block. The app also pulls names and people without permission, good luck trying to delete names... 3/5
by anonymThe app is fine for IM, but there are 100 apps that can claim that. Mostly why I've deducted stars is for the calendar feature. It doesn't integrate with a real calendar through an iCal or otherwise, and the location isn't even a hyperlink to a map application. Basic stuff that they didn't even try to do. 3/5
by anonymIt's good for getting people together but the notifications are whack. I don't want a text message for every message in groupme. I tried to turn it off but they kept sending. I had to turn off notifications for that group chat in my texts AND turn off notifications for groupme in my system settings. 3/5
by anonymA great group messaging app! Popular at my university for its efficiency with large groups (30+ people) like clubs or classes. Notification bar features (such as liking a message without opening the app) are a huge plus. Only downside is that navigation can feel clunky, such as leaving groups being hidden within options. A more streamlined update would fix most of the issues, but it works pretty well as is. 4/5
by anonymI like the app for handling the large messaging that would have frustrated me on my phone's built in messaging app. Only downside is I still receive constant notifications that messages are arriving in the app. I wish it would compile a few messages every 5+ minutes(or more) and then notify me. 4/5
by anonymVery Frustrated!!! I installed it, now it wants my email address and password then it just freezes on that screen. There is a help with password option that says it will send to your email and I NEVER receive anything! My whole management staff is on it and uses ot to communicate and here I am, odd woman out! 1/5
by anonymNever buggy, notifications are manageable even for large groups and large numbers of different groups, allows polls, basic image manipulation, comment liking, stores chats indefinitely, and makes creating new groups and adding members easy. Used it on an iPhone 6s that was 5 years old and never had problems. Also used it on Moto G Power, no problems. Very sleek app. 5/5
by anonymI love this app!! It really is helpful especially for sports. I play baseball and it is really useful when a group chat is made but not everyone gets the texts because of the mix of both Android and iPhone.
by anonymReally poor and inconsistent notifications. Poor implementation on Android. It's clear that GroupMe doesn't care about Android users. I often have to use my laptop or the browser version on my phone because it updates faster than the app itself. Changes to groups aren't reflected in the app, members are missing from groups on the app despite being there on browser, notifications never occur for private messages. I can't even begin to explain how much of a headache this app has given me. 1/5
by anonymNotifications do not show up so I don't know anything is happening in the group until I think to manually go check and therefore I'm stuck scrolling through sometimes 50+ messages to get caught up and considering I have to do distant learning I need to be connected. And when I do open the app it starts by taking me to some Microsoft app center webpage for some reason and it happens every time ( very annoying). Please fix this. Really need this app 1/5
by anonymTakes a little bit of getting used to when responding directly to another person, but this app works great! The ease of sending and receiving pictures and video, the organization of various chats, makes communication about work or school so much better and less clunky than most forum type alternatives 5/5
by anonymEasy to use, simple layout, but for whatever reason I'm not receiving notifications. Even after checking my phone settings, app settings and group settings I have to manually update the chats. I've missed many time sensitive messages because of it. I hope they fix this soon. 3/5
by anonymThis app I use for work purposes and I do not do not receive messages from my bosses letting me know to come in today or that I got work day switched no matter what I try in the notification settings I still do not receive messages unless I physically enter the app no sound no vibrate nothing this app needs to fix it's notification settings for those also involved in this situation unacceptable in this app

by anonymI was more or less required to download this stupid app for work, and boy i see why. It's just as frustrating as my workplace! I have two groups that are currently (and as far as i can tell, permanently) stuck in mute. These are the two more important one, of all things. Plus, on several occasions, I've encountered this neat little glitch where i try to refresh my messages, and then they ALL disappear. Sometimes, for months. 0/10, would not force this suckage on anyone else. 1/5
by anonymI just downloaded the app and I'm already frustrated with it. First, I can't add my avatar because the app will crash. Second, its not verrifying my phone number and I'm not receiving the verifications texts. Third, its not using my country's code the right way.

I've restarted my phone (two different phones over the past year, same issues), checked every notification setting possible, assured it's updated, reinstalled, and tried many other fixes. It's so frustrating to have to manually check my messages every 5 minutes to see if my groups have spoken, otherwise I'll miss information. It's random when it works, and is overall a terrible experience. Facebook messager has less issues. 2/5
by anonymThe app has gotten better overall since I've downloaded it. The issue with the app taking a while to load has been fixed from what I've seen recently so that's a plus. I wish it didn't completely stop other apps like YouTube when I attempt to pull up the GroupMe app though. Otherwise I haven't had too many issues with the app at this point.
by anonymEmailed groupme for issue not being able to get notifications and have not heard back from them yet and it's been more than a week waste of my time if I can't get timely notifications. I have deleted app several times and still not working . Customer service not great either 1/5
by anonymRecently the app stopped pushing notifications to me. I assumed this was the fault of my old phone since the app had worked previously, but I upgraded recently and GroupMe is still not sending me notifications. It also is not updating chats until I manually refresh them. The app has been my go-to for group chats in college but it has really missed the mark lately. 1/5
by anonymDownloaded this app for work, there are a large group of us using it. Many people within the group don't get notifications and only see messages when the app is open which.......is no help at all. I hope this bug gets worked out soon. I have made sure notifications are on within the app and also on my phone (settings) 2/5

Please fix this my company uses this app to communicate and I'm not seeing instructions until I open the app and click on the group they send info on . Urrrr!! 1/5
by anonymThis app is literally driving me insane!!!! ? First it would not sync all my group chats. Now it is not showing notifications, when in fact ALL my notification settings are on through both the app and my phone. Today I went into the app to find out I had 30+ unread messages waiting for me. I didn't get an alert about a single one!! Either get this fixed or update the dang thing already. 1/5
by anonymApp seems to have a mind of its own. It only sends notifications for new messages when it wants to. Sometimes it sends all of them, but most of the time it sends none. There is no in-between. I should not have to manually check my groups and private messages every so often to see if there are messages. 1/5

by anonymThis app was a disappointment. It's a great tool for communication in bulk IF you sit and monitor the app every waking hour. There are NO notifications. I've tried everything. I guess it's an Android thing. My friends with Apple products claim it works fine. Please fix this for Android soon. PLEASE!
by anonymUsed to work well, but not anymore. At times messages disappear when you try to send. Have to restart device. Often Multi-media messages take multiple attempts to send and still take a long time. I used to think it was my phone, but then I got a new phone ... Same issues. Surprised I was prompted to review it. I know it's asked of everyone, but still- it's just so bad. But I have years worth of content, so here we are. 1/5
by anonymI'm not getting any notifications from any of my chats?group or otherwise! I've done all the troubleshooting the internet recommends, including logging out and logging back in and uninstalling and reinstalling and NOTHING has made a difference. I just don't get notifications. 1/5
by anonymI got a new phone and now the app will not show new messages until I open the app. I have missed some very critical messages and need this to get fixed asap. I have used the app with no issues for many years. Push a new release or something. If I wasn't having this issue I would give it 5 stars from all my previous use.
by anonymThe app used to work great, however, recently no notifications are appearing (it's almost as if all my groups are muted). I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times, restarted my phone, and assured that no notifications for the app are silenced on my phone. It appears that the app is buggy and I am not the only one to notice either. 1/5
by anonymI only use this for one single group but for the group I do use it for it works extremely well and I am very happy with it. User interface is nice and pretty easy to understand without much of a learning curve easy to share things pictures included and keep everybody in the loop I definitely recommend 4/5
by anonymThe app keeps freezing. I can easily open the app and see the chats but if I try to refresh the chats or click on one of them it stays at the screen and doesn't do anything. This happens about half the time I try to open the app. I don't think it's my phone because I have never had this issue on another application. Other than the freezing, the app is very solid. It provides an easy way to connect with classmates and has a simple interface. But PLEASE work on fixing this issue. 3/5
by anonymThis app used to work fine, but recently I have not been able to recieve any notifications for it whatsoever. It seems like it does not want to run in the background, although I have every notification setting in the app and on my device enabled and I have given it unlimited access to my mobile data and to run in the background. by anonymBeen trying to change my avatar for weeks. Pressed save and nothing. I sometimes don't get notifications of an ongoing chat. When I send messages it sometimes hangs and times out when I have great WiFi/Mobile service. Same thing happens with videos or gifs. I'm not sure what's up with the app but it's been better. 2/5
by anonymWas a great app on my Galaxy S8. Worked exactly as it should. When I switched to a Galaxy S10, it quit working. I rarely get a notification until I open the app. Then I'll see all the messages I've missed. I use this for work so I really need it to notify me each and every time I get a message! I hope they update it soon since I'm not the only one having issues with notifications. 2/5
by anonymThis app is next to useless. I have no control of my profile post creation, their password reset link is broken, I cannot join new groups, I cannot change my preferred email address. Not even their desktop website functions I do not understand why this is the most common alternate texting app where I live. Do your friends a favor, uninstall this app and use something else. 1/5
by anonymNotifications won't show up on my phone no matter what! I've enabled all of the notifications settings on both the app and the phone itself, but the ONLY way the messages will show up is if I open the app. It didn't used to be like this. I've missed out on very important conversations with important people in my life. So frustrating! 1/5
