by anonymSeems to function well, but does not respect screen rotation settings and that is obnoxious. 3/5
Pros and cons by anonymPRO: most accurate in terms of significant digits. CON: Does not keep screen awake, measurements are 10db below other tools at 40.0 / 50db (respectively) (poor accuracy?), no ability to obtain a weighted measurement (really the only relevant measurement if the question is human sound, and the measurement specified by noise laws and building codes) (no app tested has this ability). OVERALL: I will keep and use this app, keeping in mind its limitations. 4/5

Awesome app! The spectrum graph is incredible. by anonymThe sound "spectrum" graph (the rainbow colored graph in the pictures above) is beyond awesome. You can sing or play a note and see all of the overtones! Or use it in different ambient environments to see different sonic "fingerprints". This would have so many applications in a science or music classroom! I've never seen anything quite like it. Very, very cool. 5/5
Tried Several, My favorite by anonymI have tried several noise meters. This combines the best of all of them into one. Also has sweet advanced features. i.e. adjusting gain to ensure accuracy of readings :) Also has a sweet light sensor...can't go wrong with this app!! Love new UI update! 5/5

Ahhh ya right by anonymI went to a "silent area" and the noise level was48-53db according to this app. I went in to an area where we where ear plugs and ear Muffs over the ear plugs and it went up 10 db. This app just wants access to your info. Will be un-installing it shortly. 1/5

Sound meter Does what it says, well! by anonymSeems to be fairly accurate and sensitive. Several different analysis and display modes useful. I would like one tweak; the frequency divided display is NOT logarithmic, so most of the info is in the zero - 2khz band. There is vrry little worth showing or hearing in the upper half 10-22 khz (unless you are a bat...) 5/5

Keeps getting better! by anonymI love this app, really. I find myself using it all the time. How loud was that plane? Or fireworks, or the neighbors dog? My husband downloaded it too see how loud some of the plants he works in are (he fixes electronics on machines all over the US) he had no idea how loud they actual are, he had to up the level of ear protection he uses.
