Excellent! Makes my AIDE coding much more productive by anonym The Hacker's Keyboard makes coding a lot more productive and enjoyable. I can easily go from my desktop and laptop keyboards to the soft keyboard that is provided by hacker's keyboard. The familiar keyboard layout, the cursor keys and the page up and page down keys are quite useful. 5/5
AWESOME!!!!!! by anonym I'm using it right now to enter this review. I've spent a while testing it and playing with all the many features and I simply cannot say enough what an amazing keyboard this is!!! It's EXACTLY what I've been searching for since acquiring my Galaxy S4. Everything is exactly where it should be and it is incredibly responsive. Arrow keys! Home! End, and I love the punctuation suggestions! Best of all, NO UNNECESSARY PERMISSIONS! Superb, stellar, excellent keyboard application! THANK you! Thank you SO much!! 5/5
Soothing for sour fingers by anonym Tapping and tipping made as close as possible to actual typing, wow, I am amazed how well this keyboard feels and performs. Library features and correction for once is doing the job and not getting me annoyed too, so I really appreciate the effort of making this input method well balanced with ergonomics and functionality. To developer: Thanks for well made product, enjoying it much. 5/5
Hacker KB V1.37 by anonym Having tried six other popular soft keyboards, this one stands head and shoulders above ALL that we have tried. It is fast, responsive, simple and neat - whilst also being highly configurable. Just what I needed for my 10" Acer Tablet. Love the height adjustment AND the label size adjustment. Also love the numeric keys along the top. Makes for easy and quick data entry. The cursor nav keys are handy too. Look no further for an Android Keyboard! 5/5
The best there is, but not as good as it could be by anonym This is the only software keyboard ever developed for a phone which has a true qwerty layout with (and this is important) correct P-L-M alignment. Believe me, I've looked. It still has its faults, though. For starters, the 'tap word to correct' feature doesn't work in full editing mode, and while the full 101-key layout is great for large devices, the compact version which makes it usable in portrait or on smaller screens outright lacks many of the symbols (like ) rather than allowing long-press access. 4/5
Everytime I try an alternative... by anonym I get frustrated! And I always find myself installing Hacker's Keyboard. Of several reasons. Firstly, I need shift keys. Secondly, the predictions never seems to work anyway, so I keep pecking away anyway. 5/5
My favourite keyboard by anonym I love how it shows all the keys on my tablet, I can type without having to look for symbols. I would improve only one thing: better text prediction: the current one doesn't take previous words into consideration. Also I think it shows too many options. Some other keyboards have better. 5/5
Exactly what a serious user needs by anonym The stock keyboard immediately annoyed me because it has no easy way to type some crucially-necessary strokes for use with ssh. This app nicely fixes that oversight. It's very easy to use too. 5/5
????????½ by anonym 8½ stars! The fact that I can easily copy and paste those symbols says something. Feature-rich with customized options including resizing, making transparent, using Ctrl-C for copy, and my favorite: arrow keys for moving the cursor around with ease. Auto-correct needs a bit of work as the current default Samsung keyboard version still surpasses it in versatility, as well as a few other things. For instance, there's no clipboard shortcut button for accessing multiple copied items. It would also be nice for the keys to visually depress. 5/5
Unbelievable! by anonym Makes programming easy! Has a lot of customization, frees screen space, amazing button controls, separate settings for portrait and layout. I'm still getting used to the small keyboard, but the nice thing is if I don't like it I can change it, easily! The only thing I would change are the suggested punctuation, to fit my coding language. All around incredible, keep up the good work! 5/5
The best! by anonym Hands down the best keyboard. My gf hated her keyboard after system updates as it reset her settings, installed this she luv me long time! New voice engine much more accurate! A+++++++ 5/5
The Best!!! by anonym I got this app last fall to bypass my Samsung Galaxy's f'd up, too fast and erratic backspacing issues... In among the huge, crappy pile of keyboard apps with freakishly invasive 'Permissions', I finally found this one! Awesome customization abilities and NO NOSEY PERMISSIONS!!! Solid gold keyboard app! Thank you!!! :D 5/5
Keyboard messing up recently by anonym had to select other keyboard program. Writes like a cell phone and erases letters if you type even slightly fast. They show up on the screen, but the next letter replaces it and no setting will fix it. No the insert key is not on. 3/5
Yeehaa!!! by anonym This I will not uninstall:D 5/5
Decent Keyboard; Insane that you can't edit/delete words in user dictionary by anonym This keyboard is worth using if just for the arrow keys. However, there is at least one GLARING omission: after driving myself insane trying to figure out how to delete user dictionary words on my S4 (which, for some reason, Hacker's and other keyboards only let you ADD, not delete), you MUST install something like Google's Android Keyboard JUST TO EDIT. Dumb dumb dumb. 3/5
A long time favorite, however... by anonym ...I got a couple suggestions to make; A setting to toggle numbers in landscape, an Icelandic layout, and improvements to Dvorak's secondary keys. I am willing to help you with the latter two. 5/5
Best keyboard by anonym Many keyboards require the stupidest access to your calls and such. This keyboard requires none of those. Can be customized to such great detail. 5/5
I really like this keyboard by anonym I used SwiftKey for a long time. Since going free it is constantly popping up adds/tips even though I had a paid version. I uninstalled it and went looking for something better. *Hacker's Keyboard* is what I chose; I like it. It's not perfect but still very good. The word prediction is different (I can live with this) but the app does not seem to remember often used words (like my salutation and signature for correspondence and e-mail) - this is not enough to out-weigh the app's strengths. I would really like a light theme (like SwitKey's one). I highly recommend this app. **UPDATE:** I have been looking at additional features like 5-row keyboard! Really nice and very complete. Regards, Peter 4/5
Its pretty cool by anonym Don't understand how its a hacking keyboard but its cool. no copy paste option? 3/5
Best! by anonym The new update is great I removed the swiftkey n now using this. Fantastic app....but I just hope the autocorrection gets better n the predictions too needs some improvement ....one thing i'll if dev add in into this is the auto saving of words.....really helpful. 4/5
Great Keyboard by anonym Always useful for anything technical, not the easiest to use for general texting. Fyi: Get a keyboard switcher app that lives on your notification bar so you can switch between different keyboards fast. 4/5
not bad, but not impressive by anonym Has a soft feel but sadly the number row is only in landscape. my stock note 3 keyboard is better and offers the number row in both portrait and landscape 3/5
Auto-Cap Off fails by anonym It apparently ONLY fails for i. Ie the letter "i" followed by a punctuation is always case shifted to "I". It has to be tricked, and then the trick erased. Mega inconvenient in programming;-)... Sorry that was fixed by unchecking "Quick Fix"! Need to turn off ALL training wheels! 5/5
Enter key by anonym I am using the keyboard over a remote desktop app and i want to be able to send the enter key. Tried the Fn enter key but does not work. 3/5
The best keyboard for Android tablets by anonym In my opinion this is the best on-screen keyboard for Android tablets. It presents a full PC-style keyboard, with easy access to function keys such as F1 to F12, PgUp, PgDn, Home, End etc. The layout adapts to the chosen input language, showing keys for the expected letters with diacriticals, placed in their traditional positions. The space taken by the keyboard and the size of the key labels are customizable. I would like to see a possibility to customize the colors and, for the Romanian layout, an option to use the "with cedilla" characters (U+015E/U+015F, U+0162/U+0163) instead of the "with comma below" characters (U+0218/U+0219, U+021A/U+021B) ? but those are minor points. Highly recommended. 5/5
Not as advertised by anonym Need a ctrl key for nano editing, doesn't work. In fact, I have to hit the ctrl key on this just to be able to enter a new line 3/5
Good! by anonym ...Google keyboard is set as my default keyboard... Ever since I've installed this I keep getting prompted In the swipe down pane to choose an input... Either KitKat has a glitch, or this app is asking for more permissions than I'm willing to give... Still a good functional layout for when it's needed... 4/5
Perfect app... by anonym For accessing my server with ssh this app is indispensable! I use SwiftKey most of the time, but I switch to this out of frustration whenever I have to do complex typing (as in terminals or ssh consoles). Thank you so much for a fast, customizable, and most importantly full featured keyboard! 5/5
Kyocera Hydro 1st dumb fine ha...stupid. by anonym Look at me at 15wpm I had to drop out of that class...now I'm 65 and up to 35wpm..pretty good huh..?? Snail with arthritis...have a nice... He is coming back..BE READY... will ya..??? 5/5
Good keyboard when you need extra key functions. by anonym The swipe-up action is unreliable, sometimes doing what it is supposed to do but more often typing characters. When this is fixed, the keyboard will be near-perfect for technical use. 4/5
Download & Crash in Lenovo P770.. The Saga Continues Since Nexus S by anonym I have been downloading this for my CLI passion since I owned Google Nexus S.. till P770 now and nothing has changed .. I am impressed, intrigued by this app But Perennially it crashes the moment I try to install it after downloading. PS. I have tried Each version. 1/5
Best keyboard for terminal, no doubt. by anonym Just a few things bugging me: 1. Unable to hide setting key on 5-row keyboard; 2. Can't switch input method by holding space key like most keyboards do. (I'm from China I have to use other keyboard for Chinese input, it's hard to hold the settings key on 5-row keyboard in portrait mode); 3. Would be nice if this keyboard can have a bottom margin like Google Keyboard do, it's really convenient 4/5
Invaluable by anonym Essential for any kind of terminal work, and the gingerbread layout makes it convenient to use as an everyday keyboard for everything else. I'd love to see the tab key squeezed onto the gingerbread layout if possible, but it's a very minor thing 5/5
Only one problem. by anonym Although it is like this on all keyboards for Android, it is still annoying. The tab key switches currently focused control rather than insert a tab character. Other than that this is the best keyboard for Android... Well it IS the best since all keyboards with tab key do that. Edit: I had never really used the 4-row layout, but it sucks. The "enter key" is ever changing, just like stock. 4/5
Nyc bt not gr8 by anonym Using this nys apps bt it haven't more theme kk/ios, no updated English dictionary n poor auto correction, no gester typing :( 2/5
Delay by anonym Uninstalled. Mostly works OK but has some issues with the recent upgrade on my samsung galaxy note 12.2 tablet: 1. Delay in typing, up to 3 seconds. 2. repeats characters indiscriminately. For example I touch the S key and I get 10 s'es. 3. The keyboard will sometimes not go down but instead there's a ghost image on the screen. Needs a button to close the keyboard. 1/5
Works great, full keyboard by anonym Switching between different devices, mostly pc and android, it's super convenient not having to figure out where the keys are, especially if you're doing console work. One issue I have is that a few keys on the swedish keyboard 5 row layout are not in the correct place (><'*) but other than that; awesome. A must on tablets. 5/5
Thank you by anonym For giving needs like me the ability to do nerdy things (like connectbot) on our mobile devices. I would definitely recommend anyone who wishes they had a real keyboard but can't justify spending the money on a Bluetooth keyboard for their tablet (or carry one with their phone), I definitely recommend you look to hacker's keyboard as an alternative. 5/5
Very intelligently designed by anonym A convenient keyboard with just about everything you could want -- I particularly like having curly quotation marks, which I haven't seen on any other keyboard. The full 5-row keyboard can be used in portrait mode on my Galaxy Note 2, though I don't think it would be usable on a smaller screen. Just one criticism: the small alternative markings on the keys are too low and too far to the left on my screen, and collide with the main letters. Their position should be adjustable, and it would be helpful if you could choose a colour for them -- I'd like red. 5/5
` key has light line on it by anonym Vertical line when in portrait mode. It is a minor issue, and does not show up in landscape mode. May be a screen issue. On new Nexus 5. 4/5
